A civil activist and former political prisoner Aset #ABISHEV has submitted a request to the Supreme Court of Kazakhstan asking to be provided with a secret and politically motivated decision of the Yesil court of 13 March 2018 banning the opposition “DCK” movement, as he himself was illegally convicted of “participation” in the “DCK”.

Earlier (5 November 2021), eight civil activists from Almaty (including four political prisoners) filed an appeal to the Astana City Court demanding that the secret and politically motivated decision of the Yesil court of 19 May 2020 to ban the opposition movement “Koshe Partiyasy” be lifted and the hearing be rescheduled at the Yesil court with a new composition (so that the case is not heard by Judge Ruslan MAZHITOV, who formally issued the decision to ban “Koshe Partiyasy”).

Also, Aibek #SABITOV, a civil activist from the city of #Astana, applied to the General Prosecutor’s Office demanding to obtain a decision of the Yesil court to ban the opposition movements “DCK” and “Koshe Partiyasy”, but the General Prosecutor’s Office did not provide a decision. In the run-up to the EU-Kazakhstan human rights dialogue and TOKAYEV’S visit to Brussels, we record further human rights violations by the Kazakhstani authorities.
